About Lovely-an Dela Cruz

Hi, I’m Lovely-an Dela Cruz — an SEO Content Writer and digital marketing support specialist dedicated to building search-driven, sustainable growth.

My journey into SEO was not linear, and it was not something I originally planned. Before stepping into the digital marketing space, I was an elementary teacher. Teaching gave me valuable life skills, but over time, I realized that working in a traditional classroom setting was not where I felt most aligned.

That realization was difficult, but it became the starting point of a new direction.

My Early Foundation: From Teaching to Exploring Digital Work

As a teacher, I developed patience, discipline, time management, and the ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms. I learned how to structure lessons clearly, guide different types of learners, and stay organized under pressure.

Although I did not know it at the time, these skills would later become foundational in my work as an SEO Content Writer.

When I began exploring online opportunities, I enrolled in a Social Media Marketing crash course led by Jin Grey. At that stage, I was not looking specifically for SEO. I simply wanted to understand how digital marketing and remote work functioned.

During that training, I learned about:

  • Social media content creation
  • Audience engagement strategies
  • Basic graphic design using Canva
  • Online branding fundamentals

However, it was during this period that Ms. Jin introduced me to SEO.

Discovering SEO: The Turning Point

When SEO was explained to me — how websites rank on Google, how organic traffic compounds over time, and how structured content impacts visibility — I became deeply curious.

I wanted to understand:

  • Why some websites consistently rank on the first page
  • How search engines interpret content
  • How strategy influences long-term organic growth

That curiosity led me to enroll in structured SEO training.

There, I was introduced to the four core pillars of SEO:

  • On Page SEO
  • Off Page SEO
  • Technical SEO
  • Local SEO

My first real assignment was link building. I handled blog commenting, directory submissions, and social bookmarking campaigns to build backlinks and referring domains for assigned websites. It was not glamorous work, and it required patience and consistency. But it gave me practical exposure to how authority is built and how off-page efforts contribute to rankings.

This hands-on experience marked the beginning of my transition from learner to practitioner.

Transitioning Into Content Marketing

After foundational SEO training, I was selected to join a content marketing training program. This was where my background in teaching began to merge naturally with SEO.

I learned how to:

  • Develop structured outlines based on search intent
  • Identify target audiences and align messaging accordingly
  • Craft compelling and SEO-friendly blog titles
  • Expand outlines into optimized, engaging long-form content

When my output was recognized and appreciated by my mentors, I was given the opportunity to work on real projects. That recognition was a defining moment. It gave me confidence that I could grow professionally in this field.

Hands-On SEO Content Execution

As I transitioned into active client work, I began handling content writing and on-page SEO tasks inside WordPress.

I worked extensively with:

  • Rank Math SEO plugin
  • Yoast SEO plugin

Through practical application, I developed deeper expertise in:

  • Keyword research and proper keyword mapping
  • Content structuring using headings and logical hierarchy
  • Strategic internal linking and contextual external linking
  • Meta title and meta description optimization
  • Publishing workflows and formatting best practices
  • Writing blog posts and product descriptions across various niches

Over time, I became more confident not just in writing content, but in understanding how content performs within search ecosystems.

Expanding Beyond Writing: SEO and Digital Marketing Support

As my experience grew, so did my responsibilities.

I gradually expanded into broader SEO and digital marketing support roles, assisting with:

  • Content publishing workflows
  • Research and competitor analysis
  • Optimization checks and revisions
  • Aligning content strategies with business objectives
  • Supporting overall digital marketing initiatives

This transition allowed me to see how content integrates into larger growth systems. I began thinking beyond individual articles and focusing more on performance, structure, and long-term strategy.

My teaching background continued to influence how I approached my work. I remained structured, organized, and intentional. I naturally leaned toward clarity and logical flow, ensuring that content was not only optimized for search engines but also accessible and useful to readers.

My Role at SocialBaddie

Today, I contribute as an SEO Content Writer at SocialBaddie, a digital marketing lab led by SEO practitioner and growth marketer Baby Ann Diaz.

SocialBaddie operates differently from traditional agencies. It functions as a working lab where strategies are tested, refined, and documented using real websites, real brands, and real challenges. The focus is on practical implementation, measurable outcomes, and honest learning.

Within this environment, my role centers on:

  • Supporting on-page SEO and content strategy tied to real business results
  • Creating search-driven content aligned with sustainable growth goals
  • Connecting content efforts with long-term organic visibility rather than short-lived traffic spikes

Being part of a lab-based environment has strengthened my strategic thinking. It pushes me to look beyond surface-level optimization and understand how content contributes to scalable digital authority.

My Philosophy on SEO and Growth

With over 3 years of hands-on experience, I approach SEO as a long-term system, not a quick tactic.

I believe in:

  • Strategy before execution
  • Practical implementation over theory
  • Clear frameworks over complexity
  • Data-informed adjustments
  • Sustainable organic growth over vanity metrics

SEO is not about chasing algorithms. It is about building structured, helpful, and optimized content that consistently delivers value.

Continuing the Journey

My transition from teaching to SEO was not something I anticipated when I first started my career. There were moments of uncertainty and self-doubt. But choosing to stay curious and committed to learning allowed me to build a path that aligns more closely with my strengths.

Today, I continue to grow as an SEO Content Writer and digital marketing support specialist, contributing to search-first strategies that aim for measurable, repeatable, and sustainable digital growth.

And this is only the beginning.
